Bailey Zimmerman is gearing up for a big summer of new music and epic live shows and he kicked it off by making a surprise appearance at one of the fastest-growing restaurant brands, Raising Cane’s.

The multi-platinum country star clocked in for duty at Nashville’s flagship location on Tuesday, June 3, serving up Box Combos and surprise performances to hundreds of fans ahead of his headlining New to Country Tour and highly anticipated CMA Fest appearance.

The Story Behind “Comin’ In Cold”

Before heading downstairs of the multi-level establishment, Zimmerman sat down with press to talk about new music, recent collaborations, his forthcoming album, and more. One of the most anticipated songs from the project, “Comin’ In Cold,” drops this Friday, June 6, the same day he kicks off his summer tour in Indianapolis.

Reflecting on the story behind the tune, he said, “There’s something about ‘Comin’ In Cold’ that I haven’t done before because it’s not about heartbreak – it’s about this girl that I shouldn’t be chasing. I’m chasing red flags and I’m addicted to it. She’s everything I want and nothing I can have, just like a beer on a Saturday night,” Zimmerman explained. “I’ve been trying to avoid being heartbroken and it’s always something. ‘Comin’ In Cold’ is about my life these last couple years. It’s more mature, but also not at the same time because I’m still chasing girls in bars.”

Working With Luke Combs And More Collabs

Zimmerman also opened up about working with rapper BigXthaPlug on his chart-topping hit “All the Way,” and Luke Combs on their new high-energy collaboration, “Backup Plan.”

“Working with Luke was a dream come true,” he admitted. “I never really thought he was going to reply when I reached out about a collab, but he hit me up a month later and we’ve been good buddies ever since. Luke never shoots content, but he said he loves me and wanted to shoot with me, so it was an honor. Our song is in the top 20 on the radio and it’s a dream come true – I’m so grateful.”

When asked if there are any more star-powered collaborations in the works, he confirmed that there are possibly a few in motion, including one that, according to Zimmerman, fans will never see coming.

“I have more collabs coming up that will be announced soon, including a crazy collab that no one would think we’d sound good together, but we do!” said Zimmerman. “Everyone – myself included – wants to collab with Morgan Wallen and I hope I can when the time is right. I would love to work with Kacey Musgraves.”

Serving Up Some Chicken

After sharing some career updates, Zimmerman served up some delicious meals and then delivered a live acoustic set on the restaurant’s first floor, where some of the dedicated fans who had lined up for hours, packed in to hear him sing. He performed “Religiously,” which he dedicated to founder Todd Graves, and his viral hit, “Rock and a Hard Place.”

In the midst of his two-song set, Zimmerman also got candid about the challenges he’s faced over the past year, including a serious health scare with his mother.

“This year I didn’t know if I was going to have my mom anymore, but she’s still with us and doing better than ever,” he said. “Life has been crazy, but the support I’ve felt from fans—it’s what gets me up every morning. Every time I see my mom crying in the crowd at my shows, it hits me all over again.”

Showing Some Love To Cane’s Founder, Todd Graves

Wearing a custom “I Love Cane’s” shirt, he even FaceTime’d Graves mid-set to share his appreciation for the tremendous support over the years.

“I’m so thankful to Cane’s for sponsoring my tour last year. Every stop, there were Cane’s Chicken Fingers waiting for me,” Zimmerman shared. “Todd is a legend. He’s a good human who puts God first, and you can tell someone put their soul into every Cane’s location. It’s not about money or fancy things—it’s about people.”

Graves was quick to send the love right back to the Illinois native as he said, “Bailey is a talented, energetic artist and friend and I’ve loved watching his career grow over the years. He puts his heart and soul into everything he does, and you can feel it when you listen to his music. It was great having him at our Nashville Flagship ahead of the kickoff to his new tour on Friday and headlining CMA Fest this weekend. I’m a big fan of Bailey’s and can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds for him. I’m hoping we’ll get to see each other again soon!”

Big CMA Fest Plans In Store

Bailey Zimmerman’s New to Country Tour kicks off Friday, June 6 in Indianapolis. Then on Sunday, June 8, he’ll return to Nashville for one of his biggest shows yet. He is set to take the stage at Nissan Stadium during CMA Fest, for a performance that he teased will include a few must-see surprises.

“I’m so excited for CMA Fest. I have guests coming on stage with me and new songs to play. There are going to be 60,000 people, guest performers that people will go crazy over – it’s going to be insane,” said Zimmerman. “I’m going in at 110%!”
